Erbsentarn 44 jacket and trousers (Peadot44)

This appears to be a Janke Dot44 Erbsentarn set with jacket and trousers. Janke
made these sets by using the rolls of HBT cloth and materials that were left after the
war in his fathers factory. Apparantly he has made these sets during the 1970-1980’s
untill the original wartime materials ran out.

The quality of these reproductionsets are remarkeable and a dream for collectors
worldwide. The genuine Erbsentarnsets are very very expensive and the prices that
are asked in the market are insane. Strangely enough these Janke Erbsentarnsets
are now more scarce and are a collectable in itself and affordable.

I have purchased this set in the late 1980’s at a small militariaexchange in Salzburg
and it has been in my storage since then. These sets are unique and probably the
oldest reproduction Erbsentarnsets made after the war.

They are clearly no comparaison to the reproductions that are out in the market
today. The quality and feel of this set is absolutely fantastic and a unique historical
perspective. The set is a larger size and I estimate the jacket to be a EU size 54-56
and the trousers EU 52-54. The US equivalent approx Chest US 44-46 and the trousers 34-36 US.

This set absolutely compares to the original sets that were issued in WW2. The ultra
high materials used are superb and the price makes it an interesting set for the
serious collector.
